Asociatia Lumina was founded in 1998 by Cry in the Dark- Uk and it is a christian charity whose mission is to help those in need, regardless of their ethnic background, sex, religious allegiance, etc. Asociatia Lumina has two projects:

Casa Lumina- home of 23 orphan special needs children, based in Comanesti. This project started in 1998 and the vision was, and continues to be, to make a difference in the lives of these now young adults by providing them with a home, medical care, social, psychological and spiritual support. Casa Lumina is a project sponsored by Cry in the Dark.

Hospice Casa Albert started in Bacau on November 6th, 2006 with a vision to considerably improve the quality of life for children and young adults suffering from life limiting diseases. The project is sponsored by Cry in the Dark, Big Lottery Fund- Great Britain, Vodafone Foundation- Romania. The project wants to offer home palliative care that eases the patients' physical suffering by ensuring  pain control and maximum symptoms control and offers support to the patients' families.

Our home care team now consists of two doctors, three nurses and two social workers that provide medical care (consultations, administrating treatments, medication and sanitary supplies), social care (counseling, information, moral and emotional support, social activities and support groups) and spiritual support to a number of 80 children and young adults suffering from diseases that set a limited life prognosis. The project's activities run in the Bacau County. Hospice Casa Albert is located in the village of Luncani, Margineni, near the town of Bacau.
